Here are the carefully-selected events on the criteria of “passion-binding” coming up next week!

Monday 6th

Screening of The Refugee Diaries and Panel Discussion – a screening of the BBC online series on Thaer Batal, Syrian refugee’s life journey to this day, followed by a panel by the directors at BBC and Thaer Batal himself.

Screening of EveryDay Borders and Panel Discussion – a screening of a short film on the restricted situations newly-arrived refugees in the UK face, followed by a panel by the directors.

Tuesday 7th

Rock for Refugees – this night event will be acted by four bands Nova Twins, Berries, The RPMs and Non-Canon in support for UNICEF to raise funds.

Beyond Borders Panel Discussion – The panel will discuss The Refugee Journalism Project, which supported recently-arrived exile and refugee journalists in the UK to re-establish their career in journalism.

Wednesday 8th

Women in Asylum: Safeguarding and Support – the panel will discuss about women in asylum with scholars of London Metropolitan University.

Transnational Social Protection, Panel Discussion – Centre for the Study of Migration at Queen Mary University of London is hosting its annual panel discussion on social protection scheme for displaced people or people without citizenship.

International Women’s Day at TOM’s – TOM’s is celebrating International Women’s Day 2017 in Soho, with a screening of short film by SafeHands for Mothers.

Thursday 9th

Imad’s Syrian Kitchen – A two-week-only pop up restaurant, run by a Syrian refugee Imad in London, will serve you the Syrian favourite dishes.

Saturday 11th

Syrian Freedom Week – A kick-off dinner for the Syrian Freedom Week 2017 for you to explore the rich culture of Syria.

Finding Home Theatre Performance – A group of theatre students and leturers from Anglia Ruskin University is going to portray the experience of migration and home in a play.
