Tuesday 14th

Diversity Matters Beyond Borders – A Launching Showcase – A launch event by Diversity Matters including music, art, film and presentations on the ongoing projects, a showcase by  ArA, Pianist Without Borders, FX (Efe Ikeuseu) and a mini market selling head wraps and accessories by Wrap Star Accessories. 

Development in Crisis: States, conflicts, refugees – Panel Discussion – SOAS development studies scholars will provide critical perspectives on the state, war and migration, and how each impacts and reshapes development in different parts of the world, reflecting on how thinkers and practitioners have problematised the emerging landscape of ‘development’.

Better Lives Lecture Series 2017: SOCIETY – We Are All Migrants – Centre for Sustainable Fashion at London College of Fashion is hosting a panel discussion on the dynamics of refugeehood around the world today with the stories of recent visits to the Za’atari Refugee Camp in Jordan and the inspirational young women there.

Conceptualising Fashion and Culture: A Cultural & Historical Studies Research Showcase – Department of Cultural and Historical Studies (CHS) at London College of Fashion will showcase the extensive research done and on-going by the department, including Immigration, Ethnicity, and the Symbolic and Material Production of Fashion.

Report Launch: Refugees and asylum seekers in Berlin – Refugee Rights Data Project (RRDP) is launching a recent research report on urban refugees and asylum seekers in Berlin, Germany.

Uncomfortable Conversations in a Foreign Land – a theatre performance on the stories of African migrants in the UK who are having conversations for the first time about the challenges of integration, identity and abandoning Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) as a traditional practice.
